In order to move forward in the search for innovative technological solutions and eco-efficient development of aquaculture in the Veta la Palma fish farm,it has been built and run a modern facility for marine fish farming, as the main focus the research, development and innovation (R + D + i) that have been rushing for some time in the fish farm.

This new facility, located in the central area of the farm, has an area of 3,000 m2 and has a total of 100 farming tanks spread over four distinct areas, breeding, rearing, pre-fattening and fattening. The plant is equipped with a sophisticated biological and mechanical filtration, and its goal is to obtain fingerlings of different species grown in the current fish farm, from players selected mainly on the farm. This is to achieve the self-supply and eventually position the company as a supplier of fish to foreign markets.

The installation of hatchery / nursery Veta La Palma has been designed for the production of various fish species, unlike conventional installations of this type, where the design allows only work with one or two species. It features the latest technology and innovative in recirculating systems, taking a total of 23 water systems with which it is possible to meet the biological needs of almost any kind. You can also control things like temperature, salinity, oxygen or pH, and regulate photoperiod and thermo-period in the various circuits.

A multidisciplinary consortium consisting exclusively Andalusian companies collaborated on the design and construction of this facility, using technology developed entirely in our region. Following the philosophy that Veta La Palma applies in all aspects of their production activities and research-development-innovation, the purpose of this facility is not so much to produce a vast variety of species, but generating best quality products.
